Lodge Vice Chief of Ceremonies

-Third in line of succession when the Lodge Chief cannot be present
-Be familiar with the OA and BSA policies pertaining to Lodge Officers
-Be familiar with Robert's Rules of Order.
-Corresponds at least monthly with Adviser
-Assign necessary ceremonial sites at the LEG meeting prior to each event.
-Responsible for knowing and coordinating ceremonial sites for each ceremony team
-Responsible for knowing which ceremonial teams will be at each function and which ceremonies each team will be
performing (cub scouts, call out, pre-ordeal, ordeal, brotherhood, vigil)
-Hold a ceremonial team competition in the Spring in order to send team(s) to the Section Conclave.
-Hold a dance competition (as appropriate) to send individual and / or group participants to the Section Conclave
-Responsible for the Lodge's Dance and Drum Team.
-Collect and read all letters from Brotherhood candidates.
-Responsible for administration of the Brotherhood experience and keeping records of all participants.
-Hold tryouts for Brotherhood ceremonial team (if appropriate).
- Responsible for disribution of supplies of all ceremonies (e.g. sashes, handbooks, etc.)
-Responsible for input to the Vice-Chief of Communications for inclusion in all Lodge newsletters.

-Attend all Lodge functions.
-Attend all Lodge Executive Committee meetings and Lodge meetings.
-Responsible for Nischa Achowalogen's Indian affairs/events at the Section Conclave and the National Order of the Arrow Conference.
-Responsible for inventory, storage, and distribution/issuance of all regalia (lodge and chapter).

Dance and Drum Team Guidelines

Purpose:
            To further the study of the American Indian culture through research of dress, dance, drum styles and songs.  Team may include research of ceremonial dances and music. Teams will demonstrate knowledge leaned with respect for the culture.

Duties:
            Provide exhibitions before Call Out and during free time at the Ordeals.  Team members may be called upon for bridging ceremonies and or/ Courts of Horner.  Be prepared to assist Ceremony teams as needed. Represent the Lodge at Section Conclaves and National Order of the Arrow Conferences. Team members must be able to set example at Lodge Events.

Dancer:
            Each dancer will need to know the songs and popper attire for his chosen dance style.  This includes intertribal and specialty dances.  Each dancer will also need to be able to distinguish if the song Northern or Southern Style and to be able to explain the difference.
            The dance team may elect a head dancer and Assistant to represent the team at all L.E.C Meetings.  The team may also be called upon to help with chapter/unit elections.

Drummer:
            As the drum represents the “heartbeat” of the American Indian culture, it will be treated with great respect and care.  Drummers provide rhythm and songs for the dancers.  They provide background music for arriving candidates enter the ceremonial ring.  Drummers may be called upon to provide music for Awards and Bridging Ceremonies. They members must be able to set example at Lodge Events.  Each member will be required to know all songs by memory and the meaning of each song and the tribe form which it originated.  Each singer must also be able to distinguish from Northern and Southern styles and be able to explain the differences. Represent the Lodge at Section Conclaves and National Order of the Arrow Conferences.
The Drum team may elect a head Singer/Drummer and Assistant to represent the team at all L.E.C Meetings.  The team may also be called upon to help with chapter/unit elections
